Sports Medicine Groups

The following list of professional organizations and resource groups represents the growing diversity in the field of sports medicine. The list also includes government agencies, sports-related groups, and academic centers that are active in tracking sports injuries.

The list is divided into three sections: sports medicine organizations, groups and committees that generate sports medicine information, and statistics-gathering groups. Some groups appear more than once; they have been cross-referenced in each instance. Entries in each of the three sections have been arranged alphabetically. When appropriate, we have given the names of directors and other officers. Links are also provided to entries who have Web sites.

While The Physician and Sportsmedicine does not endorse any of the groups listed, we do encourage readers to contact the ones that interest them. We have included only the essential information about each group; more detailed descriptions can be obtained by calling or writing to the groups.

Readers who would like their organization added to this list should contact The Physician and Sportsmedicine Groups List, 4530 W 77th St, Minneapolis, MN 55435, e-mail: Terri Minni.
