Rising Stars in High School Sports
Abstract: Competitive spirit squads, track and field, and volleyball were the biggest gainers in girls' high school athletics, while for boys the top three fastest-growing sports were track and field, football, and lacrosse. These trends were highlighted in an annual participation survey by the National Federation of State High School Associations.
