Statement of Purpose

The Physician and Sportsmedicine is a peer-reviewed medical journal published for physicians who treat patients with active lifestyles, focusing on maintaining a balance between health and exercise. With contributions from experts in primary care, sports medicine, nutrition, orthopedics, and exercise physiology, we serve physicians with research from around the world, making our dedication to health and fitness for patients of all ages paramount. We focus on healthy habits of children, adolescents, adults, and the elderly, and publish research that supports better care and treatments for these patients. We believe that with good fitness comes good health, and we strive to show that the use of exercise can help control life obstacles such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and nearly every other illness that limits longevity and quality of life. In short, exercise is good medicine. Please join Nick DiNubile, MD and our staff here at The Physician and Sportsmedicine as we support the belief that through exercise and the best practices in medicine, a longer, healthier life can be attained.

The Physician and Sportsmedicine is published four times annually and some articles are published ahead of print online. We also offer an expedited Fast-Track peer-review process specifically for articles featuring time-sensitive information.
